Genuine U.S. Navy pea coats are difficult to obtain. They are often kept as prized possessions by sailors, and they rarely show up on the surplus market. There are plenty of fakes and lookalikes. Make no mistake, this is a genuine, high quality, U.S. Navy issue, men's pea coat!
The coat is in very good condition and it is a size 36S. The wool is in great shape with no mothing. It's only deficiency is a missing button on the bottom left side of the coat. This button can easily be replaced with one of the storm flap buttons under the collar.
Genuine issue Navy pea coats are manufactured to a higher standard than most commercial copies. They are extremely warm because they are made to Navy specs and meant to be worn in maritime conditions, rather than being a lookalike fashion statement.
